Seven Months!

Livi is seven months old today!

  • She loves to scoot/crawl around.
  • She loves eating solids. She eats her veggies and fruits really well and likes everything except for peas. When I fed her peas, she made it very clear that she did NOT like them.
  • She can move from her tummy to a semi-sitting position.
  • She has her first tooth-- (front bottom left)
  • She loves to pat things with her hand (books, the table, Aaron's forehead) and she likes to bang her toys together to hear the cool noise they make.
  • She has become quite the explorer and likes to look at (and slobber on) everything that she finds. She keeps showing us places where we need to baby-proof more. For example, Aaron keeps some of his school stuff on a bottom shelf in our room. When Livi was playing on the floor the other day, she crawled over to the bookcase and started pulling out Aaron's notebooks and trying to eat them. We stopped her and laughed a little at the thought of Aaron telling his professor that our baby ate his homework.
She is growing up so fast and is so much fun!

Pictures and Memories

I was looking through some old pictures on my computer recently and I came across this one. It was taken about an hour before Aaron proposed to me on Saturday, May 12, 2007. This picture brought back so many good memories from that day.

Aaron picked me up and told me that we were going to Salt Lake City to take a tour of the Conference Center. I was really excited and kind of had a feeling that this date was going to be more than just a date. We had already talked about getting married, so I was just waiting for Aaron to make the move that would make our engagement official. I had butterflies in my stomach the whole day, but enjoyed every minute of it. When we got to the Conference Center, Aaron was playing it cool, but I knew him well enough to tell that he was a little bit nervous.

At one point during the tour, Aaron took my hand and hung back while the rest of the tour group moved on. Once we were alone, he got down on one knee, took a little box out of his pocket, and asked me if I would be his wife. I said, "Yes!" (of course), and we grinned at each other, Aaron looking slightly relieved (like he didn't know what I was going to say!). When we got out into the hallway, the group was waiting for us, and the tour-guide, who was apparently in on it, called out, "Did she say 'yes'?" Aaron affirmed that I did, and everyone congratulated us.

Aaron chose the Conference Center because that is where we held hands for the first time and where we officially started dating each other exclusively. He thought it would be fitting to make our engagement official at the same location. It was great, and I was walking on air for the rest of the night, completely happy to be Aaron's fiance and to wear his ring on my finger.

Speaking of the ring, I about died when he pulled it out. It is beautiful, and I love it. Just for the record, Aaron picked it out all on his own. He asked me what styles I liked in general, and I told him, but he did the picking. It is kind of funny because I actually received a few somewhat snide comments about what a snob I must be for making my fiance buy me such an expensive ring. In the case that you have thought of me as a materialistic person, please note that I never saw the ring until Aaron pulled it out of his pocket, and I would have been just as happy if he had tied a piece of string around my finger, as long as it meant that I could be his wife forever. :)

Here is another picture from that day. I laughed out loud when I saw this one. Somehow, I don't think that either of us were ready when it was taken. It looks like Aaron was in the middle of a sneeze, and I look confused or something. :)

Good times and good memories. I'm so glad that we have eternity to keep making more.

Six Months!

My mom and Olivia. My parents came out to visit us this past week. It was so good to see them!

Olivia is officially six months old! I can't believe that it has been half a year since she was born. She has changed so much in such a short time. She is very smiley and happy, and she has the cutest laugh. She hardly ever cries. It is kind of funny because when she gets ornery (when it is getting close to naptime) she will grunt/growl at me instead of crying. I told my dad that she gets that from him. :) She now eats squash along with her rice cereal, and she is getting really close to crawling. We've started baby-proofing because she can get pretty far by scooting. She doesn't seem like she likes to sit up on her own very much (she'd rather be on her tummy trying to crawl), but she can sit up leaning on her hands for short periods of time. She is the sweetest baby, and I love her so much. These past six months have been amazing! Aaron and I love having Olivia in our family, and we thank Heavenly Father every day for what a blessing and a joy she is to us.

Here are some pictures of Livi. Please note the one where she is eating Aaron's ear. (I think that this picture is hilarious). I think that she is starting to teethe because she has been extra crazy about gumming/slobbering on anything that comes near her mouth.

Happy Six-Months Livi!

If it seems like my life revolves around this little girl and her dad, yeah it pretty much does. And I wouldn't have it any other way! I love being Aaron's wife and Livi's mom! :)
